Yannick Markhof is a Postdoc in the Development Economics Group at ETH Zurich and an associated Postdoc at the ETH AI Center. Yannick's research investigates how data gaps in low- and middle-income countries affect our understanding of key issues for economic development — such as public finance in low-income countries, the living standards of vulnerable populations, and the effect of economic shocks on livelihoods. Previously, Yannick was a PhD Fellow at the United Nations University (UNU-MERIT) and obtained an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford. He has over six years of experience as a researcher within the World Bank’s Development Economics Data Group, the Research Group, and at the United Nations Development Program.
