Pallavi Sengupta is an Urban Development Specialist with over a decade of experience at the intersection of cities, climate change, housing, infrastructure, and urban resilience. At the World Bank Group, she has contributed to design and operationalization of the urban and disaster risk management programs across East and South Asia, supporting analytical work, lending operations, and policy dialogue.
She currently supports the Global Platform for Sustainable Cities, where she plays a co-leading role in advancing integrated approaches to urban development that link climate, infrastructure, and economic outcomes. Her work focuses on translating global knowledge into operational insights, strengthening city-level capacity, and fostering partnerships to scale low-carbon, resilient, and inclusive urban solutions.
Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Pallavi worked with the UN Office for South-South Cooperation and Management Systems International, where she contributed to international development programs and policy initiatives. Her expertise is grounded in urban policy and spatial planning, complemented by training in real estate economics and municipal finance.
