Janna Tenzing is a Social Development Specialist working at the intersection of climate change and development. She has specialized and published extensively on how locally led action and social protection can address structural drivers of vulnerability to climate change impacts and responses, as well as on the UN climate change negotiations process. Before joining the World Bank in 2022, Janna was a researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)'s Grantham Institute, the International Institute for Environment and Development, and UN Women. Past affiliations have also included ODI, the Green Economy Coalition, and the Samdrup Jongkhar Initiative—Bhutan's first zero-waste civil society organization. Janna holds a Ph.D. in environmental policy and development from the LSE.
