Brian Micheni works with the World Bank's Education Global Practice, where he focuses on foundational learning and teacher workforce policy at a global level. His work includes the Accelerator Program for foundational learning, an initiative supporting governments in low- and middle-income countries to strengthen foundational skills, particularly numeracy and literacy. He also leads work on integrating foundational skills into employability programs targeting out-of-school children and youth. He has served as an Africa Education Fellow with the World Bank in Nairobi. Before the World Bank, Brian worked with Stanford's Mussallem Center for Biodesign and the Aga Khan Foundation's Schools2030 program on education initiatives across East Africa and has worked as an educator in secondary schools in Kenya and Uganda. He holds a master's in education from the University of Oxford.
